Shelter-In-Place Order Issued At Senate Office Buildings For Possible DC Shooter (Developing)

US Capitol Police officers are searching in and around the Senate Office Buildings in Washington, DC in response to a "concerning 911 call," according to authorities.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, investigators responded to the area to conduct a canvas following reports of a possible active shooter.

Nearby residents have been advised to avoid the area on Wednesday afternoon.

Anyone inside the Senate Buildings have been instructed to shelter-in-place as a precaution. Officials noted that there have been no confirmed reports of shots fired.

Officers remain at the scene as of 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2.

More information is expected to be released by Capitol Police.
